Hi mates, this is my last blog in this semester. I will write about my experience writing blogs all week. When I was in school, approximately from the third grade to the secondary education, I was taught English and, now, at the University of Chile I went back to this language. Writing blogs, at the beginning, was not difficult, since the topics I had to write about were simple, but as the classes progressed the topics were more complex and also the number of words we had to use increased every two or three classes. Last semester I also had to write blogs all classes and honestly I think it's boring, could do more entertaining activities where one can express or share with the partner without forgetting that we have to speak in English. Also, the teacher assigned to me last semester calculated the time we had to occupy for each activity, so it was difficult to learn because I felt pressured or sometimes I could not understand what he was explaining to us. I read most of the commen

Changes to my study program

What I would modify in my career is would be that in some essential subjects of the childhood education the contents are deepened more. For example: social constructions of childhood, because they only tell us a little about the theorists or about different subjects, they never explained each content in detail, I would also like the teachers teach how apply each thing in the practice. "Health and child care" I consider it a very important subject and as I pointed out previously, they explained the contents to us, but they did not carry out practice activities and in my opinion, this should be the main thing of the subject, because when we are in a kindergarten we probably don't know what to do or how to help the child if he has an accident. For this reason I also believe that the subject of "Child Health and Care" should be added at least once a year. In the curricula I would like to add some subjects where they teach us the mute deaf "language", the

A subject you have enjoyed a lot this semester!

Hi classmates, today I talk about my favorite subject this semester. I studied five subjects this semester, but the best for me was “Saberes pedagógicos del desarrollo personal y social”. The present subject proposes to analyze the epistemological frameworks on psychomotor development, as well as the understanding of their learning processes and development during the first three years of life. Suppose design, implement and evaluate pedagogical proposals that integrate the elements of the curriculum for the development of psychomotor learning experiences that respond to the diversity of children and their cultural contexts. Likewise, it considers the participation of children and the promotion of democratic practices as an articulating axis of its pedagogical proposal. The main contents that I study are: Classical theories about development social   (emotional, personal),   contemporaries theories about development social (emotional, personal), emotions and emotional regu

Emmi Pikler

I admire Emmi Pikler, she was born in 1902 and grew up in Vienna and Budapest. After the First World War she studied medicine in Vienna where she encountered and worked with two innovative paediatricians of the day - Clemens von Pirquet and Hans Salzer. She later moved with her husband to Budapest where, in 1935, she qualified as a paediatrician. In Budapest, Dr. Pikler set up a private paediatric practice working closely with parents of babies and young children. Through weekly visits, she supported parents to build trusting relationships with their children, notice their competence and allow time for natural development. In 1940 her first book was published, What Can the Baby Already Do? Soon after, in 1946, she set up a residential home for infants, to provide care for the many abandoned or orphaned children in Budapest after the war.   she also wrote further books, most notably The Book of Mothers (not translated), which ran to sixteen editions and became the standard text f

Your reflections on the demostrations at FACSO

I learned a lot of things in the feminist sit-in at the faculty of social sciences. I learned that the woman shouldn´t remain quiet when she suffer for something, I mean in violence cases, abuse, harassment. I think that this happen because the woman is not valued by the society and the main question is: Can society change their mentality about women?, the society should  change their mentality in relation to women, her physique, feelings and mentality.  I also learned that it's not just about respecting women, but respect all people equally. Being a man doesn't make you better than a woman, being a woman does not make you better than a man, on the contrary, any none is better than the other. Therefore, all have the same right regardless of our sex. The demonstration showed me that we must fight for what one wants, despite the fact that one has to invest a great deal of our time. It helped me reflect on the feminist movement and also on machismo, to think from where it origi

I am studying nursery teacher at the University of Chile at the faculty of social sciences and I am not thinking of taking another one, because I like my career and when I start working will support and guide the children, they need to develop their thinking skills, socialize and autonomy. In general, this is the role of nursery teacher. I would like to have a job in a big country with vegetables, animals and a variety of plants where the children feel close the nature. My ideal place for work is Castro-chiloé. The children will enjoy the nature in this country, they will explore differents things and places. I would like to travel a lot in my job, for example, to hawaii, Sídney and China for see up close your culture, traditions and how is the education, kindergartens no day-nursary. I wouldn’t like work in an office because I wouldn’t can do everything I want with the children. I think that the future job of each person is very important because is forever and if you want be h

This animals have a nocturnal life and a insectivorous foods. Hedgehogs are easily recognized by their spines, it´s are hollow hairs made stiff with keratin. This spines for the first year normally fall out as they are replaced for other spines when are adults. Spines can also shed when the animal is diseased or under extreme stress. Hedgehogs have five fingers with long hoofs in the lower limb and five fingers with shorts hoofs in upper limb.  A defense that all species of hedgehogs possess is the ability to roll into a tight ball. Hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal, though some species can also be active during the day. All hedgehogs can hibernate in summer or winter, depending on temperature, species and abundance food. They are fairly vocal and communicate through a combination of grunts, snuffles and sque

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY YOUR CAREER?

When I was a child architecture was my dreams jobs. After I wanted study art and early childhood education in the university but finally I decided to study early childhood education because I think that the development of children is fundamental and they acquire knowledge in an affective environment that’s complements how the parents raise their children and the abilities of the children to think and feel. Also is important the contribution of early childhood education to society with the kinder garden and day nursery, because the parents can be calm. I enjoy my experience at university until  now, I study at the afternoon, talk and drink beer with my friends. I would like to have a job in a green place with an animals diversity, for example in the pasture because the children  would have a big space, would know types of plants , trees and bush, in conclusion the children would have a close connection with the nature.
